We are always encouraged to step out of our comfort zones. We are always encouraged to do the things we are scared of, not comfortable with a 100%, try new things, talk to new people...etc
It is essential that we leave this comfort zone sometimes to advance ourselves, to do the things that will make us better. Stepping out of your comfort zone will teach you new things. It will help you learn to adapt to different circumstances and whatever this world may bring upon you.
On the other hand, keeping a comfort zone is important. A friend once told me if it hadn't been for her comfort zone, she may not have been able to get through the struggles of the pandemic, lockdown and any hardships that she had gone through. She said her small circle of friends and family - her support system, her comfort zone were the reasons she kept going.
Keeping a comfort zone is not as bad as some make it sound.
Keeping a comfort zone to run to when things are too much to handle, when you're having a bad day, when you're going through a difficult time. This comfort zone is there to push you and to support you to do the things you wouldn't do because of fear or discomfort.
It really depends on your definition of your comfort zone.
At the end, make sure you're not staying in your job or a relationship because it's familiar or too comfortable. Don't hide in it. If you're not happy, do something about it. In the meantime, ensure you have your support system/comfort zone to support you while you're doing something about the situation you're not happy with.
