When I was a little girl in the second grade, my dad bought me small tiny books for kids. I finished them so quickly and he kept on getting me more.

One day he came home with Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban..in Arabic.

I loved the story but I was extremely confused. The formal language for me was not easy to understand.

In the sixth grade (2005) I saw my first Harry Potter movie. It was the fourth one and I instantly fell in love with the series (and the accent of course). I wanted to know what happened before I wanted to know what happens next. Luckily, one of the nuns at my school (Sister Theresa) had a little library and she would lend books to students. She had Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She happily lent it to me, I read it with excitement. I fell in love more and more with the magical world of Hogwarts. I was finally able to get my hands on the first four books and the last two as soon as they were released.

My official first English read was Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix.

This book will always carry a special place. It introduced me to a whole other world. A different world from the one we live in.
