What To Look Forward To...

I was looking at January 2020. I had hopes, dreams, plans. Things to look forward to. I had personal plans. I had travel plans. I had family plans. I had plans with my friends. I had plans for February, March, April (that's how far I got) .
I had things to look forward to. The highlight of the year was when my friends and I went to Montreal,QC in September for our friend's engagement party. The trip wasn't even planned until like 3 weeks before. But it was something we had to look forward to.
We're in January 2021 with no plans. Living it day by day. I don't know what I'm doing next weekend. I don't know what I'm doing next month. The future has always been unknown but the near future...this is all new.
We have all the right to be upset, frustrated, depressed. We're literally living day by day with absolutely nothing exciting to look forward to. The things that keeps us going; the things that keep us excited are no longer there.
Find something to do that you love. I love writing so I started this blog. I like drawing and painting but I don't have the talent so I got a paint by numbers and I look forward to finishing it and see the final results. I love reading so I'm reading when I feel like it and I look forward to seeing what happens next in the story.
If you're in lockdown like we are in Canada, plan virtual game nights (codenames is so fun!), plan virtual coffee dates with your best friend.
They're all small things to look forward to -I know- and not as big as travel plans to look forward to but we have got to make do. We have to hope that things will one day will go back to normal.
